A Destination Wedding in one of Italy’s most iconic regions: Tuscany. Elegance and intimacy.

An international wedding, both intimate and elegant, set against the wonderful Tuscan backdrop.

An intimate celebration with relatively few guests—around seventy, maybe just a bit more. Family members and closest friends, with whom to share a marvelous day: the culmination of a vacation spent together in Italy. Three different worlds intertwine: the Netherlands, South America, and Italy. A wonderful blend of harmony and different sensibilities, beautifully coming together. It’s truly a 360-degree mix. Even South American liquors—various rums—merge with different Italian and Northern European specialties.

It’s a sign of two families meeting and embracing two extremely distant and diverse continents. Yet they are so emotionally close, so genuinely bound to one another.

Telling the story of their differences? No, it was about conveying the incredible sense of familial unity that was palpable everywhere.

In a context like this, it would have been easy to focus on the typical details of two such distinct cultures, especially when set against the Tuscan backdrop. Instead, it became immediately clear that the truly vital core of the whole affair was how little distance actually separated these two continents, between the Netherlands and Paraguay. Shifting our gaze to capture these connections, these emotions, felt completely natural—nothing was forced. The flow of events was perfect, and as photographers, our level of involvement was incredibly high.

THE PHOTOGRAPHIC APPROACH

Several children were present, including the couple’s own, as well as many older guests. Right from the start, it felt essential to adopt the most reportage-style narrative possible—a journalistic approach balanced by an aesthetic sense that arose naturally from the elegant simplicity the couple chose for their big day, for their wedding. Essentiality, simplicity, linearity. After all, true elegance is never shouted, right?

And now let the images speak for themselves. The naturalness and sincerity of a story that is never forced, always discreet, and deeply felt. Our stylistic choices aimed in that direction: warm tones, low contrasts, delicate tonal transitions, and rich, profound nuances. Form and substance must always speak the same language. And the distances disappear.

And I saved this one for last: the photo that, in my opinion, will represent the family’s memory fifteen years from now or more—an invaluable keepsake for an incredibly close-knit family.
